To recover a Windows computer from a backup, you can use the Recovery USB flash drive that is provided with your E2 hardware. Prepare this recovery media when you receive your hardware, so that it will be ready if you need it.
To prepare your recovery media:
1. Plug the Recovery flash drive into the USB port of a Windows computer.
2. In a web browser on the computer, go to the Portal website and sign in.
3. On the right side of the Dashboard, click Download recovery media.
4. When the executable file is downloaded, open and run the executable file.
5. If a message states that Bootable Media Creator requires one or more items to be installed, click Install.
If the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) is required, click Download to download the Windows ADK installer from Microsoft, and then run the installer. Select Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) during the installation.
6. Click Continue.
7. On the Select the Recovery Media Destination page, select USB Flash Drive and select the Recovery flash drive from the list.
8. Click Continue.
When finished, a message states that your recovery media is ready.
9. Click Close.
