After a computer is backed up, you can restore files and folders from the backup. The following procedure describes how to restore files and folders from Windows or Linux computer backups.
You can also restore:
• An entire Windows computer using recovery media. See Restore a Windows computer using recovery media.
• Entire volumes from a 64-bit Windows computer. See Restore Windows volumes from an Image backup.
• Virtual machines (VMs) and data in a Hyper-V or vSphere environment, see Restore Hyper-V VMs or Restore vSphere data.
To restore files and folders from Windows or Linux computer backups:
1. On the navigation bar, click Computers.
A grid lists available computers.
2. Find the Windows or Linux computer with data that you want to restore, and expand its view by clicking the computer row.
3. Click the Jobs tab.
4. Find the backup job with data that you want to restore, and click Restore in the job’s Select Action menu.
5. Do one of the following:
• If you are restoring files from a 64-bit Windows computer backup, an Image Restore dialog box appears. Use the following steps to mount the backup as a drive and restore files and folders:
i. In the Image Restore dialog box, click Individual File or folders and then click Next - Configure Source.
A Restore dialog box appears.
ii. Click
the calendar button. In the
calendar that appears, click the date of the backup from which you want to
restore.
iii. In the Encryption Password box, enter the data encryption password.
iv. In the Volume to Restore column, select each backed-up volume from which you want to restore files and folders.
v. In the Volume Mount Drive Letter column, choose the drive letter for mounting each volume.
vi. Click Mount Volumes.
vii. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the drive or drives. Copy files and folders from the mounted drive to the drive where you want to restore them.

• If you are restoring files from a Linux or 32-bit Windows computer, a Restore dialog box appears. Use the following steps to restore files and folders:
i. In the
Restore dialog box, click the calendar button. In the calendar that appears, click the
date of the backup from which you want to restore.
ii. In the Encryption Password box, enter the data encryption password.
iii. Select a Restore Destination option.
iv. Select a File Overwrite option.
v. In the Select Items box, select files and folders that you want to restore, and then click Include. For more information, see Restore Windows files and folders or Restore Linux or UNIX files and folders.
vi. Click Run Restore.
