You can restore data to the computer where you backed up the data or to a different computer.
To restore some or all of a computer’s backed up data to another computer without replacing the original computer, see Restore data from another computer.
To register a new computer with the vault as if it were the old computer (i.e., reregister), see Restore data to a replacement computer. Reregistering a computer can be useful if you are replacing a system and want to migrate all data to a new computer (e.g., at the end of a lease or if hardware is failing).
